Rebrief Learn: CE credits from your questions

Rebrief Learn turns the clinical questions you already ask during a visit into continuing-education credits, with the least possible effort. You ask as you do now; the cited answer counts the moment it is on your screen, and that evening it is also a short unit on your phone — read it, or have it read to you — with a three-question quiz at the end. Both bank their minutes, and you can download a certificate, with one line to paste into your College e-Portfolio, whenever you like. Nothing changes in the visit, nothing is timed, and no registration number is needed.

The three moments

In the op. Ask a clinical question the way you always have, in the Evidence room or in the bar at the top of the app. When the answer is clinical and cited, one quiet line appears under its sources: Filing towards CE credits while it is filed, then 2 min saved towards category 3 CE credits. Complete a short quiz to earn category 2 credits →. That is the only change to the visit screen. Nothing asks you to do anything in the room. A question that is not clinical, such as billing, scheduling or software, earns nothing, and the line goes away.

In the evening. Open the Learn tab. Your latest certificate is at the top, then what Rebrief has earned you this cycle and today's goal, then your units, laid out as a path. Every unit sits on one line, newest first, under the day you asked the question behind it. The next unit to do is the large stop with its Start button. A part-read unit shows how many of its sections you have finished, a unit waiting on its quiz shows that ring complete with a quiz icon in the middle, and a passed unit turns gold. A seal on the path marks each full hour of passed quizzes. Passed units older than a week fold into one stop that opens with Show.

Each unit is four short sections written from the answer and its sources, about a real case described without any identifying detail. Its citations sit in the text as small chips with each source's icon and name, as in Evidence answers; tap one to open the source. Read it: the sections open one after another on Continue, and you can scroll back at any time. Or listen: tap the headphones and the unit is read aloud — screen off, phone in your pocket — moving through the sections and on to the next unit by itself, with play, pause and skip on your lock screen and earbuds. A small bar at the bottom of the Learn tab shows where the narration is; when the queue ends it tells you how many quizzes are waiting.

Not interested in a unit? Tap Not interested under it. The unit leaves your path, the reading time from its answer stays, and Undo puts it back where it was.

Whenever you like. Every passed unit adds its minutes to your bank, and every answer you read adds its own minutes to a second bank beside it. Download certificate issues Rebrief's certificate for the answers you read at any time, with a ready-to-paste portfolio entry. Read more and download again, and you get a new certificate with the next number, listing everything you read this cycle; the earlier one still verifies and says a later certificate replaced it. The units bank is redeemed from one full hour, but its certificate is issued under a sponsor's name and sponsorship is still being arranged: Category 2 certificates will be available Nov 1st. Keep passing units in the meantime — every minute stays banked and is redeemed in full when issuing opens.

Two lanes

The answer itself counts as Category 3 the moment it is on screen: clinical e-learning that the College accepts without a quiz. Rebrief is the provider, its minutes are the words at a reading pace, and it is logged the instant the answer has finished rendering — nothing to open, nothing to pass. The unit and its quiz are Category 2: the same answer, rewritten as a short e-learning unit with an assessment, certified under a sponsor's name. Nothing is counted twice — the answer's minutes are Category 3, the unit's minutes Category 2 — and removing a unit as Not interested gives up only the Category 2 part. Hygienists bank both lanes as hours. Category 2 needs an approved sponsor, and that sponsorship is still being arranged, so units bank now and Category 2 certificates will be available Nov 1st; Category 3 is Rebrief's own and is available today.

Neither lane needs a registration number: the College's verification asks for your name, the date, the title and the duration only. If you add your number in Settings it is printed on your documents; nothing depends on it.

The quiz

After the last section come three questions about the case. Two of three passes. Tap an answer and it is marked at once; the source is shown with every answer, right or wrong, as a chip you can tap to open it, so the quiz teaches as well as proves. If you do not pass, three new questions are ready straight away — tries are unlimited, and the questions rotate so a retry is a new quiz, not a second look at the same answers. Read it again is always there if you want it.

What counts

• Credit is the unit's minutes — the estimated instructional time printed on its cover — earned when the quiz is passed. Nothing is timed: tapping through the sections in a few seconds still earns the unit's minutes, and so does hearing it aloud.
• Three quizzes a day. Reading and listening are never capped; once three are passed, a unit waiting on its quiz says This quiz opens at midnight and how long that is, and the unit stays on your path.
• A unit on a topic you already completed this cycle is shown as read before and is not credited twice, and asking the same question again does not count its reading twice.
• Passed units wait in the bank until you redeem a certificate; answers read wait in theirs until you download theirs. Nothing is lost, and nothing waits on a registration number.

Your e-Portfolio is the record

Rebrief reports only what Rebrief earned this cycle: the credits (hours, for hygienists) from the units you passed and the answers you read, shown against the College's 90 credits or 60 hours for context. It is not a tracker of your whole cycle, and it does not need to be. The College's e-Portfolio is the record you are required to keep, and it does the arithmetic itself: it totals every category, moves excess Category 1 credits into Category 2 and excess Category 2 into Category 3, and applies the Category 3 ceiling. Paste each certificate there as you download it, or once at the end of the cycle.

So there is nothing to enter by hand — no courses, journals or webinars taken elsewhere — and Rebrief never claims a category is full: every answer you read is logged and counted here, and the e-Portfolio decides what the ceiling leaves. Core credits (Category 1) still come from College-approved courses; Rebrief Learn does not offer them.

Settings, entered once

Under Settings → Learn: your name as registered, your role (dentist or hygienist), your registration number (optional — printed on your documents if you add it), and for hygienists your learning goals. The cycle end date is one quiet optional field, prefilled with the College's common cycle (dentists: 14 December 2026; hygienists: 31 December 2028) — set your own only if you are in your first cycle, which runs from registration; Use the College's cycle takes you back. Three controls: Earn CE from my questions (every cited answer counts as reading and becomes a unit with a quiz), quizzes a day, and the evening digest (one email at 7 pm, only on days with units). Your CE record downloads every unit and every answer read, kept for eight years, for an audit.

The certificates

Both are print-first, black on white: your name (and registration number, if you added one), the period covered (the dates of the first and last item), the activity type in the College's own words, every item with its date, topic and minutes — and, on the Category 2 certificate, the quiz result — the total instructional time, a document number and a verification address anyone can check. The Category 2 certificate carries its sponsor's provider number and will be available Nov 1st. The Category 3 certificate is available now: it names Rebrief as the provider and states that it is self-study e-learning with no assessment, which is what Category 3 asks. The College's portfolio records each entry in whole credits, so an hour or more of short items is entered as one line; each document states the exact hours and what they record as.

Good to know

• Units carry no patient names, dates of birth or anything that could identify a patient. They are a record the sponsor keeps and the College may audit.
• Units never carry product messages. The learning content is walled off from everything else in Rebrief.
• Listening needs the narration to be made once per unit — the first play of a unit takes a few seconds to prepare; after that it starts at once.
• Rebrief Learn covers roughly a third of a dentist's yearly credits from units, plus Category 3 credits from answers read, up to the ceiling the e-Portfolio applies. Core credits still come from College-approved courses.
