Copy, PDF and the Export menu
Everything an appointment can hand over — the note, the chart, or the transcript — leaves Rebrief through one of two places: the Export menu on a note tab, or the Copy and PDF buttons on every other tab.
The Export menu (on a note tab)
On a note tab, Export ▾ is the last control on the note's bar. It's one menu, in four parts.
This note
- Copy text — puts the note's plain text on your clipboard, ready to paste anywhere.
- PDF on letterhead — makes a printable page of the note.
If the appointment has a second note open, this part of the menu shows that note's own name, and both buttons act on that note's text.
Odontogram
- Copy image — copies the tooth and perio charts as a picture, ready to paste into a chart note or a message.
- PDF — puts that same picture on the clinic's letterhead.
Push to your practice software
These rows appear only when your practice-software connection is running on that computer:
- This note
- The perio-odontogram
- This note and the chart — one confirmation covers both
- Every note
Each one writes straight into your practice software on screen. Before anything is charted, you'll see a preview to confirm.
Chart history
When chart history is switched on for your clinic, a Chart history row sits at the bottom of the menu.
Copy and PDF on every other tab
Every other tab — the Transcript, a dictation pad, a document, a filled form, or an AfterCare summary — carries its own Copy and PDF buttons, right on that tab's bar. A document, a filled form, and an AfterCare summary also keep their own Share and Print buttons.
Tip: Copy and PDF always read exactly what's on that tab right now — the live transcript while the scribe is listening, or the saved version once it stops.
What a PDF looks like
Every PDF is built fresh the moment you click it, from whatever is on screen — so any corrections you've made are in it. Each one carries your clinic's own letterhead:
- The clinic's name at the top, with its address and phone on a line underneath when your clinic's record has them (never a placeholder line when it doesn't).
- The date, the document's title, and the patient's name.
- The text — or the chart image — below.
- Page numbers and a "Made with Rebrief" footer on every page.
A long note or chart breaks across as many pages as it needs. The file downloads like any other PDF, on white paper, ready for your clinic's own letterhead stock or a photocopier.
Sending something to the patient
Copy and PDF put something on your own clipboard or drive. If the patient should receive it directly, use Share instead — on a document or an AfterCare summary, Share sends a protected link rather than a file attachment.
Troubleshooting
- "Copy image isn't ready yet" — the chart picture is captured a moment before you click. Press Copy image again, or use PDF instead.
- Clipboard refused — an older browser, or a browser permission prompt, can block a copy to the clipboard. Use PDF instead.
- A PDF fails — the message on screen tells you why.
