A new Home screen, Prep my day, and a redesigned Windows app

Here’s what’s new in Rebrief since our last update in September.

• A new Home screen. One bar to ask anything: about a patient, your day, or a clinical question. Clinical answers come with their sources. Your chats are listed beside the bar.
• Notes start blank and fill in as you talk. There’s no template to pick first. To use one, press + Create, then Note. Dictation gives you your words as spoken, with dental terms and tooth numbers corrected.
• Change a note by typing what you want. After an appointment ends, highlight part of its note and type the change, like “shorter”. Undo puts it back. To teach Rebrief your way of writing, highlight it and press Remember, for that note or every note. Settings, Memory lists everything Rebrief remembers.
• Notes are ready sooner after End. Rebrief now does more of the work during the appointment, so less is left for the end.
• Tasks. When an appointment ends, Rebrief writes its follow-ups from the note. Tick them off in the appointment’s Tasks tab or on the Tasks page.
• Prep my day. In the Windows app, Prep my day reads the day’s schedule and charts before clinic. When it can’t read a chart, it says why.
• A reminder to start the appointment. In the Windows app, Rebrief asks whether to start the appointment when a visit begins. If you stop and keep talking with the patient, it offers to resume that appointment instead of starting a new one.
• A warning when the mic hears nothing. In the Windows app, Rebrief says “Check mic input” and why.
• Closing Rebrief asks first. In the Windows app, closing Rebrief during an appointment asks before it closes, so a note can’t be lost by accident.
• Updates overnight. The Windows app updates itself overnight. During the day, a notice inside Rebrief offers Update now. It never updates during an appointment.
• Help in your practice software. In the Windows app, Rebrief can do tasks in your practice software. You can watch each step, and press Esc to stop it at any time. A task sent from another computer waits until the appointment on that computer has ended.
• Tracker. For clinics on Tracker, chart imports now bring in perio exams, and caries, sealant and watch entries chart correctly.
• A new look for the Windows app. A plum frame, a larger window and the new Rebrief logo.
